Anyway today, like yesterday has been one of bonding, rest and getting ready for tomorrow. My carers as the boys have now branded themselves, and i decided to spend the day outdoors again and after getting some basic food supplies in and doing our washing, we packed a picnic, got in the car and headed toMoriha, the eite of a church built by the first missionaries to lesotho at the beginning of the 19th century and also a little museum. After driving for 40 minutes through stunnung countryside we arrived and took our car up the unmade road where we had a warm welcome from the museums curator. We studied our cultural heritafge and headed out into the garden for a drink. With my lack of ability to understand most accents i struggled with the list f drinks we were told and was convinced they were trying to give me pigeon pie juice. It was actually peach and pear juice but you say it quickly with an accent and you will understand my confusion.
That sorted we drove on up the hill to the end of the road and we had a picnic on a rock at the foot of the mountains. There was silence....something we just dont ever seem to get back at home. We were joined by 3 children and 2 dogs who played quietly close by hoping for a little something which of vourse we gave them before we left. We sayed there for a while just relaxing in the hot sun before beginning our descent and return journey.
Because there is always so much time in Africa, we decided to go and get a coffee in the cultural centre where the other 2 had not visited before so under my navigation, we left ng since turned th3 sat nav off, we arrived at the foot of the sacred mountain of Thaba Bosiu, a mountain we had all previously climbed and settled down for a drink. Sadly there was no decaf to be had but i managed to down a whole pot of rooibos tea, the only tea i will ever drink, and then only in Africa and Christian managed a milkshake. We spent a while mooching round the roundhouses from different tribes which are on display there and admiring the handiwork of the centre and after 3 visits i am not totally sure of its purpose. I spoke to a member of staff and asked him if they had many visitors. His reply was ‘yes, too many....especially white ones’. I think something was like st in translation. I thought at first he was being particulaly racist but after talking to Lindiwe she explained the misunderstanding....ha ha ha.
A beautiful drive home and then we arranged to go out to dinner wuth Peter and Lindiwe the current directors. Having driven to our restaurant of choice we found they were closed n Sunday so we wrnt to Primi, an Italuan on one of the malls. Christian fortunately kindly drove again.....the roads are so dark you really cannot see a thing. They have streetlights here but just do notbother to turn them on.....it makes Night driving verydifficult. We had a brilliant evening with decent food and then came home to relax, talk about our day and prepare for to orrow.
I am lead to belive that playgroup is going to be quite challenging and Christian could stay hrere for weeks and not finish his list of jobs.....
Anyway on that note, my eyes keep closing and i have an earliesh start tomorrow.....
Sala hantle.....stay well.
Love Jenny xxx
