A normal day? well almost!

Someone said to me today that Jenny and normal do not go in the same sentence and i guess they are probably right!

What is normal for me is probably totally abnormal for most of my friends but who wants to be the same as everyone else?

My day started in Khotso 1 collecting the chidlren for playgroup and the morning started sensibly!  I think i mentioned the other day that  huge container had arrived from Australia, well we walked the children round to it this morning to take some photos as it had been emptied!  this was quite a mammoth task as some can't yet walk and some were scared of the cars and others just didnt have a clue where we were going!  We eventually got back and the Dutch volunteers and I got the playdough out for the older children!  Many of you know how much i love playdough and all things messy (If Emily is reading this - she will be nodding!!!!).  Well we had fun with that and not that much got eaten!  

Playing outside was hot but we had fun and i got all the wheelbarrows out which caused a little chaos then it was lunch time and siesta time!  It was baking hot in the sun as i ate my watermelon and pineapple and i lay down to have a short doze only to wake up 20 minutes later to storm clouds, rumbling thunder and spots of rain!  I stayed outsisde for as long as i could but soon the heavens opened and we had a real tropical 5 minute shower before the sun came back out again!

I had been concerned about a little boy in my house who is the oldest and he was always getting into trouble as he is so much older than the others so i got him set up at lunch time with a colouring book and put his table outsdie the house!  He thoought that was great and was so well behaved!  AFter play this afternoon i got some more colouring books and crayons for the other 3 pre school children  and did the same for them - th ehouse was a much quieter and peaceful place!

For afternoon play i decided to get the parachute out that i had found!  Wow that cause much hilarity and excitement!  Couldnt realy play any proper games with it as 2-5 year olds dont tend to be very obliging but we had a lot of fun jumping balls up and down and goign under neath it - although most of the children wanted to sit on it most of the time!  It wore me out and i had to go and rehydrate before Apple time when i became a seat for 7 children!  I had about 20 minutes of 7 children jumping on every part of my body to the point where you couldnt actually see me underneath them!   That was ok except one was a strapping young 7 year old!  Every part of me was flattened - i hoped it miight help me lose weight being under a heavy weight but i have seen no sign of this!

Tea time was the usual chaotic feeding time and then home for a shower and a relaxing evening! Christina and Paige had cooked mexican tortillas and we had chicken and rice etc which was delicious!  Anita had bought a citronella candle as a gift for me as Bryan thought i was beginning to look like a greater spotted zebra with my mosquito bites and my stripes!  He is so nice to me!

We had an evening of hilarity and serious conversation which ended at about 10,30 and that was time for me to get my blog out so here i am by candlelight which is keeping the mozzies away, with the sound of the crickets and lots of frog sounds tonight! 

Tomorrow i am heading off to Pre-school at 8 am to spend the morning there then i know we have some visitors arriving later in the day and there is a special treat tomorrow night!  The treat is not for me but it is a visit to one of my 'special places' and i am looking forward to it.  I have to make some hummous tomorrow to prepare for my treat and at the moment i have not got any kind of food processor or blender so that will be interesting!
